About Olympian Themes
Olympian Themes is an independent English-language magazine about the themes, templates and tools people use to build and run a website. We test, compare and explain: WordPress themes, site builders, e-commerce storefronts, hosting, backups, plugins, and the AI tools that are changing how sites get made.
Where the name comes from
For years, olympianthemes.com was known for VirtueMart and Joomla store templates. Shop owners in Germany, Switzerland, Austria, Brazil and beyond still credit those templates in their footers. We kept the name and widened the scope: today the question is no longer which Joomla template to buy, but which theme, builder or tool fits a given project, and what it will cost to live with.
What we cover
WordPress Themes — classic, block and child themes, licensing, speed. Website Builders & Templates — Shopify, Webflow, Framer, Wix, Joomla and VirtueMart. E-commerce — stores, checkout, shipping. Hosting & Performance — hosting, caching, Core Web Vitals. Security & Backups — backups, hardening, migrations. Plugins & Web Tools — SEO, forms, PDF, email, analytics. AI for Websites — AI builders, writing tools, chatbots. Design & UX — typography, colour, accessibility, conversion.
How we work
Every guide starts from primary sources: official documentation, changelogs, pricing pages and public benchmarks, each with the date we checked it. When we cannot verify something, we say so on the page instead of guessing. Prices and features change fast, so each article shows its last update date, and we revise pages when a product changes.
Rankings are built on stated criteria, published before the list. A product does not climb a ranking because its maker contacted us. When a link on a page results from a commercial agreement, the page says so.
What we are not
We are a publication, not an agency. We do not build websites, sell themes or offer consulting. If you need a site built for a specific project, work with a qualified professional.
